Packaging: Outside

The Hypervolt 2 Pro came in a nice medium sized box that displayed a picture of the gun along with all its attachments and unique features on the back. The box was high quality and it opened in 2 pieces.

Packaging: Inside

The gun along with all its components were tightly and neatly compacted in the box. The box includes a zip up bag containing 4 different head attachments, detailed instructions, and of course the Hypervolt 2 Pro.

Testing Out the Hypervolt Pro 2

First impression of the gun:

The gun looked like it was good quality although I felt like it looked very large and bulky. It definitely has some very unique and cool features that no other guns have. The first thing I noticed was its control dial. Most guns are controlled by buttons or a touch screen but the Hypervolt 2 Pro has a unique dial that you turn to adjust the speed. Although the dial looks and feels pretty cool, when using the gun it feels like it is unnecessary as you accidentally turn the dial occasionally when using the gun and if you turn the dial past the max level it turns off.

Testing the gun:

As soon as I picked up the gun it felt very large and awkward to hold. The handle is thick and instead of a traditional round grip the grip is oval shaped. The gun had great power but because of its awkward grip it made it difficult to get a solid grip when pushing the gun into your muscles. The gun also vibrated a lot which became uncomfortable after a while of using it as you could almost feel the vibrations go all the way up the arm you’re holding the gun with. This gun is definitely not meant for the average customer as it is very powerful and also takes larger, stronger hands to hold.

Size

The Hypervolt 2 Pro is measured at 8 x 2.5 x 10.4in (Length x Width x Height). This gun is definitely smaller than the Theragun pro but is still one of the larger guns out there making it more difficult to hold and maneuver.

Weight

The Hypervolt 2 Pro weighed in at 2.6lbs with the standard attachment head making it just 5oz lighter than the Theragun which is a lot bigger. This is a pretty heavy gun, the battery alone weighs over a pound. The weight is definitely something to consider when buying a gun because it makes a big difference how comfortable it is to hold and use for long periods of time.

Stroke Length

The Hypervolts long stroke length makes it one of the best guns on the market. It has a stroke length of 14mm which is up there with the most elite percussion massage guns.

Stall Force

Stall force is the resisting force required to stall the engine. The Hypervolt 2 Pro has a stall force of 35-45lbs which is pretty average for a gun of its size and cost but definitely still on an elite level of performance. The gun also has a high torque 90w engine that makes it more powerful than many of its competition.

Battery Life

The Hypervolt 2 Pro has a really unique detachable and rechargeable lithium ion battery that can last up to 3 hours with a single charge. Although the detachable battery is pretty cool it is pretty inconvenient having to take the battery on and off every time you charge it, and you also have to make sure the battery pack goes into the gun facing the right direction or else it wont click. One thing to note is the battery case and holder does not have a ventilation hole which in rare occasions can cause the gun to explode if battery acid leaks. The light at the bottom changes color as a helpful indicator of how much charge the battery has left.

Attachments and Accessories

The Hypervolt 2 Pro comes with 5 attachments including the default head that comes on the gun. Some of these heads are very unique. It comes with a fork, flat, bullet, cushion, and ball heads. The quality of these heads look very good. The Gun also comes with 3 different types of plug adaptors for the charger so people all over the world can use this product.

Speed

The hypervolt 2 Pro has 5 levels with a max speed of 3200 rpm which is pretty average. I felt that the first speed was a little too fast because at times I prefer to have a gun with a low rpm first level for massaging injured or tender muscles. Hyperice does not provide what rpm each level is at.

Noise level

For many people the noise that their gun produces really matters. Using the Hypervolt 2 Pro I could instantly tell that it was much quieter than the TheraGun but it still wasn’t the quietest gun I’ve heard. I measured the noise level with a decibel level meter in which I measured how loud each level is. My results are in the chart below:

Level Decibels Produced
1
58.2 dB
2
59.5 dB
3
64.5 dB
4
67.5 dB
5
82.3 dB

(This sound was measured without any heads on the gun). The gun topped out at 82.3 dB at 3,200 rpm which is pretty loud if you’re using the gun in public.

Worth the Price?

The Hypervolt 2 Pro costs $399.99 making it one of the more expensive guns on the market. Although the gun is one of the more elite and powerful guns on the market there are a few other options on the market similar in price that also have the same power with a more comfortable and efficient design.
