Packaging: Outside

My TheraGun PRO came in a large, plastic wrapped box which was very easy to open. The box looked very appealing as it opened in 2 pieces similar to Iphone boxes.

Packaging: Inside

It was satisfying taking out all the tightly packed and organized components. There are two levels to the box; the first contains a protective case that holds the TheraGun itself along with its components which include 2 rechargeable lithium ion batteries and a small bag that holds all 6 unique head attachments. This case makes it easy to transport your TheraGun safely without losing any of its pieces. The next level held the charger and its cables.

Testing Out the Theragun Pro

Aesthetics: At first glance this gun looks insane. Its large build and futuristic design instantly makes it stand out from other massage guns. Although the gun looks cool with its unique triangular designed handle it feels a little unnecessary as it gets in the way often. The quality of the plastics on this gun are decent but I would expect a little more for $599. Another thing that I noticed was that the battery is pretty difficult to click in as it seemed it didn’t exactly align with the plastic housing. It takes a lot of force to move the angle of the neck which makes it feel kind of janky or stiff.

Performance: This gun is no joke, as soon as I turned it on I could feel just how powerful this gun was. It surprised me how loud and powerful the gun actually was. It takes a few seconds for the gun to get up to speed and the faster it went the louder it got. Other than the noise I could feel this gun’s elite performance. The gun allows you to adjust the angle it points at, which makes it easy to reach spots other massage guns can’t. It allows you to easily set the gun at a variety of speeds which are displayed on its screen. This gun does vibrate a bit which can get annoying at times. I would not recommend this gun to the average customer as it is very powerful and expensive but this gun is definitely designed specifically for elite athletes that want to take their recovery to the next level.

Size

TheTheraGun PRO looks just as it performs. Being one of the biggest massage guns out there It measures at about 10in x 7.1in. Although In my opinion the large triangular shape makes it awkward to hold at times.

The grip measures at 1.4in which actually feels a little small for a comfortable firm grip especially for such a big gun.

Weight

The TheraGun weighed in at 2lbs 15 oz with the standard attachment head. The weight of the gun may be slightly uncomfortable for some people. I found it uncomfortable to use the gun on my back for long periods of time because of its weight.

Stroke Length

One of the main features of the TheraGun that sets it apart from its competition is its stroke length. It has a 16mm stroke length which allows the gun to dig deeper into your muscles each revolution compared to other guns.

Stall Force

The TheraGun slightly tops all its competition in regards to stall force. It takes 60lbs of pressure to cause the motor to stall. I don’t think you would need to push any harder than that to get the job done.

Battery Life

One new improvement from the last TheraGun is that it has a detachable battery. Another feature of the TheraGun that stands out is its battery life. The TheraGun can last for up to 5 hours on one charge which dominates its competition. Unlike most massage guns the TheraGun comes with two batteries so as long as you keep one charged you’ll never have to wait on your gun while it charges. I will say that it is sometimes difficult to fit the battery in the guns compartment. You have to force the battery in.

Attachments and Accessories

The TheraGun comes with 6 attachments that all serve different purposes. These attachments are pretty basic and seem to be the same as the TheraGun Elite’s tips. These tips are high quality and fit on tight.

Speed

The TheraGun’s stroke speed ranges from 1,750 – 2,400 rpm which isn’t a very broad variety of speeds. There are also many guns that go a lot faster than 2,400rpm. At times it is helpful to use a massage gun at a low rpm and I feel like the lowest speed on the TheraGun is still a little too fast.

Noise level

One downside to the TheraGun is how loud it is. The gun is difficult to use in public because it’s so loud. This could be very distracting for many athletes especially in a locker room.

The App

The TheraGun has the unique ability to be controlled on an app. This is a very interesting concept but I feel that it is unnecessary when you could just control the gun from the buttons on the gun.

Worth the Price?

Price is a huge factor for many customers and being $599 buying this gun doesn’t sound very practical. This is true for many people but If you are a person that takes your recovery very seriously and you want the most powerful gun then the TheraGun Pro might be for you.
